Fall – Winter 2020-21
… And they lived happily ever after.
Once the book has been closed, you can dream of your own fairy tale, in which the heroines of the bedtime stories meet together and exchange clothes, turning into metropolitan characters. The chromatic impact is decisive. In this fairytale atmosphere, the mood mixes different styles and periods.
Snow White flies to New York and for the important soirées she packs the gold, black and silver borrowed from the Evil Queen and interpreted by fil coupé, silk organza, flocked polka dots, coated sweatshirts, sequins, and velvet lace. But to move faster through the city she chooses instead a sporty & chic style that combines the micro design of the poisoned apple with more everyday fabrics inspired by the smocks and trousers of the Seven Dwarfs, such as corduroys, micro tartans and Madras, to be combined with small knitwear garments with warm shades of yellow, red, and caramel. In the most stylish version, the poisoned apple is repeated on the warm viscose shirt, closed by the geometric velvet bow and matched with the micro tartan skirt interrupted by a pocket stopped by a large button.
Little Red Riding Hood does not give up her favourite colour and her trolley for the Paris trip is full of clothes in the most varied shades of red. The style is decidedly back to school, with vintage details, bows and frills that harmonise well with the sharp and modern lines emphasised by the chromatic contrast with blue. The crisp wool blouse, embellished by Cornely embroidery with micro ruffle-effect and a large bow to tie, is made irresistible by the logo mania. It’s just perfect to wear combined with the stretch nappa leather boots marked by coated buckles. Elsewhere, micro checks are embellished with jewel cherries and large ball buttons, while the breakfast basket transforms itself as if by magic into a small bag matching with the dress. Buttoned fabrics, pleated tulle, floral laces and quilted velvets give it even more character. A faithful travelling companion, the wolf becomes an imaginative dandy who shows off animal designs.
Alice has no doubts: she has a preference for tea time. By five o’clock you have to be in London, not to be late for the appointment with the queen. Bon ton dresses are therefore the most suitable for the occasion: brocade, embroidered and Jacquard fabrics stand out due to their opulence and prefer natural nuances, such as green, pink and cinnamon, which smell of spices and taste of biscuit and fruit infusion. Many small accessories cannot be missing: the Mad Hatter definitely hand a hand in it and filled the suitcase with headbands and pretty little hats. The royal must-have? The silk brocade dress with floral patterns with currant and acid green shades, where the sporty accent is put on the collar with jewel flowers and braided wool and chenille trimmings. On the feet, the red babette shoes with rhinestone pavé and para rubber.
